Raila Expresses Confidence in the Success of Handshake with President Kenyatta

Opposition chief Raila Odinga has expressed confidence that his March 9th handshake with President Kenyatta will be a success.
In his speech at the Third Annual Legislative Summit in Mombasa on Thursday, Odinga noted that the unity agreement with the head of state is still intact and will bear fruits despite opposition from different quarters.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader said President Kenyatta and himself had picked fight against graft and strengthening devolution as the main agendas of the unity pact.
“The initiative (handshake) is alive and running. Your views and actions will be critical to the realisation of the objectives of the initiative, especially with regard to strengthening devolution,” Odinga said in a speech read on his behalf by Kisii senator Sam Ongeri.
Kenyatta and Odinga have already unveiled a 14-member team to spearhead the unity deal. Its members include; Dr Adams Oloo, Agnes Kavindu, Senator Amos Wako, Ms. Florence Omose, Professor Saeed Mwanguni, Mzee James Matundura, Major (rtd) John Seii and Bishop Lawi Imathiu.
Others are; Hon Maison Leshomo, Senator Mohamed Yusuf Haji, Morompi ole Ronkai, Bishop Peter Njenga, Rose Moseu and Zecheus Okoth.
The team, dubbed Advisors for the Building Bridges Initiative, will work under the stewardship of the secretariat, which is co-chaired by Ambassador Martin Kimani and lawyer Paul Mwangi.
