Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria Admitted at Mater Hospital After Contracting Covid-19

Nyeri Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria has been admitted at Mater Hospital in Nairobi.

In a letter to the church on Tuesday, the clergyman said he was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for Coronavirus.

"Thank you very much for your continued prayers [while] I am admitted with Covid-19. God has shown me his love and your love and prayers sent and promised, for me and many other patients in various hospitals and homes,” he noted.

Muheria, who is the Chairperson of the Interfaith Council on the National Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, added that he is currently on oxygen support but his condition has improved since his admission.

"I have improved slightly and can now eat and sleep well. However, I am still on oxygen as they continue treating me," he added.

The archbishop further called on members of the public to observe the safety measures outlined by the Health Ministry.

“…please become ambassadors of compliance in our homes, meetings, and funerals. Let us lead the way of responsibility.”
