Kabuchai MP James Lusweti Passes Away in the Hospital

Kabuchai Member of Parliament (MP) James Lusweti Mukwe has passed away.
Lusweti died on Friday morning at the Nairobi Hospital where he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.
President Kenyatta has led the nation in mourning the second-term MP who was elected on a Ford-Kenya party ticket.
In a message of condolence, Uhuru eulogized Lusweti as a reserved but adept grassroots politician whose community projects helped improve the lives of many Kabuchai residents.
“It is unfortunate we have lost a very affective leader, an accomplished grassroots mobiliser whose development conscious politics shall be dearly missed by the people of Kabuchai and the entire nation.”
“I remember Hon Mukwe as a man of few words who let his transformative work speak for him. The Hon Mukwe will be remembered for the many transformative development projects successfully delivered in Kabuchai Constituency during his time and for the proper utilization of public resources to deliver services,” Uhuru said in a statement.
Lusweti served as a Councillor for Chwele Ward between 2008 and 2013, when he was elected to the National Assembly.
His death comes three weeks after the passing of Matungu MP Justus Murunga, who reportedly succumbed to Covid-19 on November 14th.
