Lady Who Was with Machakos Senator Kabaka When He Collapsed in Hotel Room Speaks Out

A woman who was in the company of Machakos Senator Boniface Mutinda Kabaka when he collapsed at an apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate has spoken out.

Esther Nthenya Muli, a 45-year-old high school teacher from Wote, Makueni county, says she is a long-time friend of Senator Kabaka.

A Nairobi court on Monday detained her for seven days to allow police to complete investigations into claims of attempted murder of Senator Kabaka.

But in an interview with Mbaitu FM, Esther said they have been friends with the senator and denied claims that she planned to harm him. She expressed confidence that she will be exonerated once police review CCTV footage.

Senator Kabaka collapsed at 2.30 am on Friday at 3Dee Apartments and is fighting for his life at the Nairobi Hospital’s ICU.

Esther said Kabaka began complaining of a headache at around midnight and asked for painkillers but the pain persisted.

She then phoned the senator’s aide Isaac Muinde who organized with the apartment management to call paramedics to evacuate him. The senator was vomiting by the time the ambulance arrived.

Esther was picked by police who arrived in the hotel hours later to collect samples of vomit, food and, drugs.

While this was not her first meeting with the senator, Esther said it was her first time to visit 3Dee Apartments. She said they attended the same school and had kept in touch and when the senator called her for Thursday’s meeting, she agreed.

Esther said the senator was already at the apartment when she arrived. The two enjoyed some food and drinks at the restaurant in the apartment before heading to a room the senator had booked and all was well until the senator started complaining of a headache.

Her case will be mentioned on December 14th.

That you are right about. Am disgusted however on how the police reacted on this and all other cases. Someone volunteered to help this apparent sickly runaway husband then she gets to be labeled a murderer before the basic investigations? Can anyone imagine what would have happened if she had just him alone to battle the whatever ailment? She is a good person and some one needs to apologize to her.!

Overzealous Police. There was no reason to arrest the lady, or detain her. She did everything a reasonable person would do in an emergency. She was a friend, not the Enemy. I would advise her to sue for harassment, but for sake of the Senator, just let it pass.

The police might have "EATEN" something from Mutinda's wife to harrass Kibeti Nthenya.I wish Mutinda quick recovery and hope he will reward Kiveti Nthenya with marriage as second wife immediately after being discharged. It seems Kibeti is always available sudstitute whenever the wife AMECHOKA/HAJISIKII/KICHWA CHAUMA.
