Kenyatta University Student Arrested for Cohabiting with 15-year-old School Girl
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a 20-year-old university student for allegedly cohabiting with a minor.
It is said that the Kenyatta University student identified as Peter Wanjohi had lived with the 15-year-old girl for one week before she was rescued by Ruiru-based DCI detectives on Sunday.
The two were found in Wanjohi’s house in Gitambaya, Kiambu County, and were handed over to Kagio police station for further action.
The teenager was reported missing from her parents’ home in Kagio, Kirinyaga County a week ago.
“Her distraught parents had received a shocking text message from her that she would be in a holiday camp for a month,” the DCI said.
“Our detectives are ready to swing into action, should any Kenyan file a missing child’s report or any other such matter that requires our urgent attention.”

This is what happens when Kenya tries to be like western countries. I hope Kenya understands that the western world is diverse. 15 year olds are minors for sure. In the US, the age of consent is 16. I hope he gets punished for sure but keep the punishment commensurate with their age difference until she is of consent...3 years. Don’t grow up too quick Kenya.
This is bad of course,but it cannot measure up to those communities that let old men in there 60s marry teenage girls.So @larry mdowo as you said age disparity between the two love birds should be considered.I have applied the term love birds to these young people.So please don't assume that I would call a 69 years old in the same setting, "love birds".
Anyway,this is not the last time we will hear of this kind of thing.Morals of today would have been unemaginable 20 years ago.
15 years is definitely a minor. I believe that the age of Consent should be 16 for a girl. By this age, all girls are of child bearing/menstruating age. There is a biological reason for this. Man should not legislate against nature.
If society encourages your thinking,there would be a lot of secondary school girls with kids,not to mention drop outs.Add that to fathers at age 13,when nature allows boys to ejaculate billions of live sperms per hour.
Of course nature also allows us to lust after our neighbors sexy wife,but that does not mean we act up on it.
I just think that the punishments in Kenya are too harsh, and are not based on reality. A 16 year old girl is mature, both physically and mentally. I would put the male maturity age at 21. It is wrong to only look at the age of the girl, and only have mandatory imprisonment of the boy/man regardless of age. Consensual sex between two 16 year olds in Kenya means 15 years in jail for the boy for 'statutory rape'. In the West, even women who have sex with underage boys are jailed. Not in Kenya.
Feminist nazis made laws in Kenya. Underage sex btw minors puts boys in prison for years. Even evil West doesn't jail consenting minors. West lets minors get married if both parents say ok. Some Southern states ok with child marriage but Kenya education is the way out of poverty
