Senator Wetang’ula Accused of 'Stealing' Dogs Worth Sh248,000
A businessman who sold dogs to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has accused the politician of refusing to pay him over Sh200,000.
James Isokat, who rears dogs for sale, says Wetang’ula bought well-trained and microchipped German shepherds from him for Sh348,000.
He delivered the dogs to Wetang’ula’s residence in Karen, Nairobi on June 11th this year but was paid Sh100,000, with the senator promising to complete the payment the following morning.
Isokat says the Ford-Kenya party leader did not settle the amount as agreed, adding that he has been taking him in circles since then.
“Ameniibia mbwa zangu sababu tulielewana na hajanilipa (he has stolen my dogs because he has not kept his side of the bargain,” Isokat told K24 Digital.
“He has been taking me around with numerous threats from his security guards.”
The dog farmer reported the matter to Karen police station on July 8th under OB number 7A1N1N19/21.
In recorded phone calls shared by Isokat, Wetang’ula is heard saying that he will not entertain the man’s behavior of camping at his home and causing fracas.
“I want him to pay me and compensate for all the training I have done to his staff. I have tried all the means but he seems not ready to pay me,” Isokat said.
Senator Wetang’ula could not be reached for comment on the matter as calls and text messages went unanswered.
