Chinese National Brutally Murdered in Athi River, Two Critically Injured

Police in Athi River are investigating an incident in which a Chinese man was brutally murdered by suspected robbers.

Two other Chinese nationals were critically injured during the Saturday morning incident and are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The deceased was named Jia Yuan while the other two victims were identified as Jia Yuwei and Jia Zheng Ming. The three foreigners were living together at a warehouse in Greyland Estate.

Machakos DCI officer Charles Mutua said the thugs broke into the warehouse after scaling a wall at around 2:00 am.

“Upon entry, there was some scuffle that led to serious injuries to the three Chinese nationals,” said Mutua.

Yuan suffered a deep cut in the mouth while Yuwei (47) and Zheng (37) sustained cut wounds on the head.

“Police were informed in good time. They rushed to the scene and found that the thugs had already escaped but the injured Chinese were still there,” added Mutua.

The three were rushed to Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River where Yuan died while receiving treatment. The other two victims are admitted and are in stable condition.

“We are following several leads,” said Mutua.

Let's wait on all the facts from the full investigation before we make a conclusion. Was the scene safe for the men involved?
My condolences to the deceased.

Life is sacred. I don't care blacks, white, green, pink etc...
But my question is, why were these three sleeping in a warehouse??
Didn't they have money to lease a motel or apartment?
Are the Chinese contractors abusing their own?
Is this Warehouse being used for illegal activities?
This needs to be investigated from all angles.

It makes it quite hard for anyone to run a successful business in Kenya! May be the thugs thought the warehouse had some money locked in there!
