Experts Deployed After Bomb Scare at Yare Towers in Eastleigh, Nairobi

Bomb experts were on Thursday afternoon deployed to a building in Eastleigh, Nairobi after a threatening note was left inside the elevator.
The note dropped by unknown people claimed that there was an explosive device in Yare Towers.
Starehe Sub-County police commander Julius Kiragu confirmed that detectives were combing the building in search of the alleged bomb.
“Currently, detectives are up and down trying to search for the explosive that is said to be in the building,” he said.
Police sources said the note warned that the explosive would detonate any time from 1:00 pm.
Several people were safely evacuated from the multi-storey building located along Eastleigh First Avenue in Nairobi.
Caleb Otieno, who works in a building adjacent to Yare Towers, said that they were asked to close businesses.
“We have been asked to leave this area and it has been cordoned off by armed police officers,’ he said.
In January 2020, there was another bomb scare at Doctors Park in Parklands after some people picked a note that claimed there was going to be an explosion at around noon.
It later emerged that the writer of the note was only scaring occupants of the 12-storey building.
