President Uhuru Makes First Public Appearance Since August 9th

President Kenyatta has made his first public appearance since the August 9th general election when he cast his vote at Mutomo Primary School in Gatundu, Kiambu County.

Kenyatta, who appeared to be in a jovial and chatty mood, was seen leaving the famous Barka Restaurant in Mombasa on Wednesday.

He was accompanied by several Coast leaders including Mombasa governor-elect Abdulswamad Nassir Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Mombasa senator Mohammed Faki, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo, Kisauni MP-elect Rashid Bedzimba, and Mvita MP-elect Masoud Machele.

Reports indicate that the president had lunch at the popular restaurant before he was seen taking a walk along the streets of the coastal city.

Kenyatta has also remained silent since he held a meeting with US Senator Chris Coons who paid him a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi on August 18th.

In a statement, State House said Kenyatta assured that the transition process will be smooth.

“My greatest desire is that peace will prevail and we may set an example in the continent and the world,” Kenyatta said during the meeting.

Yes Mr. President,
Set the right record and legacy. Please do not allow fraud, etc taint the good image you have made for over 2 decades. You and Raila will be heroes of this new world.

Stay where you have been since August 9, and retire ASAP because you have let all of us Kenyans, down. Trying to force Raila on us. He failed badly even this fifth time.

His silence on the election issue is- wisdom. What would he say anyway, that will not be politically construed,or misconstrued?

His folks in Mt Kenya are asking his host in Mombasa to keep him. Uhuru has achieved the unenviable hallmark of a retiring president unwanted and unloved by his own people. Ouch!
