Husband, Two Quack Doctors Arrested After Woman Dies in a Botched Abortion in Nairobi
A man who assisted his wife to procure an abortion leading to her death has been arrested along with two quack doctors who allegedly performed the botched operation.
The three suspects were arrested after the middle-aged woman’s lifeless body was found dumped in a storm water tunnel near Shell petrol station along Outering Road in Nairobi on new year’s eve.
Preliminary investigations established that the woman whose body had been wrapped in a white bedsheet may have been murdered elsewhere and dumped at the scene by unknown persons, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said.
DCI detectives based in Starehe got wind that the body had been disposed at the scene after a botched operation conducted by a suspected quack doctor identified as Richard Orambo, who operates a clinic known as Watergate Medical Centre at Mathare Area 1.
Orambo, in consultation with another rogue doctor Francis Messo who runs Busanzi health clinic in Dandora phase 4, is said to have tried in vain to procure the abortion but when the patient developed complications, they opted to rush her to another backstreet clinic in Kiambu.
It is while on their way to Kiambu that the patient lost her life and the two, alongside the woman’s husband reportedly dumped her body in the storm water tunnel in a bid to cover their tracks.
Detectives arrested the two quack doctors together with the deceased’s husband identified as Richard Onyango, who is said to have facilitated payment for the botched exercise.
The three are currently being processed to answer to charges of murder.

"HINO", husband in name only.I know many women reading this are wondering if their husbands would do such athing to them.Well,do you think this woman thought her husband would do such a thing...?Bottom line, married or not, it is always prudent to take charge of your own life first.Marriage just brings two different people together, and hope that they would work as a team. You should always maintain your individuality even if at the risk of you marriage. In the long run you are better of.
