Atwoli Assumes Role on Social Health Board in Ruto Administration

President William Ruto has fulfilled his duty by establishing the Social Health Board, as required by the Social Health Insurance Act.

Francis Atwoli, a prominent figure in the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU-K), is one of the esteemed individuals who has helped establish this board. The official notice reveals that Timothy Olweny assumes the role of chairperson. According to the notice, President Ruto, following the guidelines of the Social Health Insurance Act, has designated Timothy Olweny as the Chairperson of the Social Health Authority for a duration of three years, commencing on November 22, 2023.

President's representative, Susan Nakhumicha, has designated three individuals namely Zakayo Kariuki, Kacinta Kathamu Mutegi, and Francis Atwoli to serve as board members. These new appointments are also set for a term lasting three years. On October 19, four bills pertaining to Universal Health Coverage were ushered into law by President William Ruto. Out of these four Acts, the Primary Health Care, Digital Health, Facility Improvement Financing, and Social Health Insurance bills, have officially been enforced.

Francis Atwoli has once again secured a prominent role within the Kenyan government. This marks his third appointment by the current administration. In May 2023, Atwoli was selected by Florence Bore, the Minister of Labour, to serve as a member of the National Labour Board. Simultaneously, he was also chosen to join the National Labour Board for a tenure of three years. Adding to his list of responsibilities, Atwoli was handpicked by Ruto in June 2023 to be part of a select group of seven individuals entrusted with the task of selecting the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). This team ultimately recommended Renson Mulele Ingonga for the esteemed position.

There should be a set retirement where mentally sick old people like Kenya Atwoli should have retired king time ago and gone home to his many wives! Giving such an old man a job is a mockery to many young Kenyans who can perform far much better than this old gizzard.
