No Thanks: Karua Speaks Out on Attorney General Offer

Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has emphatically rejected calls to join President William Ruto's government as Attorney General.
Karua has today reaffirmed her disinterest in the position, further reiterating his stance against Ruto's administration. This response comes in the wake of a social media endorsement by Peter Kariuki who suggested that Karua's expertise would be valuable to the government. Kariuki's endorsement highlighted Karua's impressive political career and her potential contributions as Attorney General. However, Karua has consistently maintained a firm stance against joining the Kenya Kwanza government.
She has been vocal about her dissatisfaction with the government's performance, calling for its exit due to unmet expectations. Recently, Karua's party Narc Kenya issued a notice of intention to exit the Azimio coalition following the appointment of four Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) members to Ruto's cabinet. This move further indicates her reluctance to collaborate with Ruto's administration. Despite this, Karua assured during a radio interview that her relationship with Azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga remains strong, stating that communication lines between them remain open.
In rejecting the idea of joining a government of national unity, Karua emphasized the importance of strengthening the opposition. She believes that a robust opposition is crucial for holding the Kenya Kwanza government accountable and ensuring it fulfils its promises. Karua had also commended Raila Odinga's willingness to withdraw his candidacy for the African Union Commission, viewing it as a strategic move to avoid potential manipulation. The political landscape in Kenya has been further complicated by the appointment of ODM members John Mbadi, Hassan Joho, Wycliffe Oparanya, and Opiyo Wandayi to various cabinet positions in Ruto's government.
Karua's decision to decline the Attorney General position aligns with her long-standing principles and advocacy for justice and good governance. Throughout her political career, Karua has been known for her resilience and dedication to her beliefs, having previously served as the Minister for Justice, National Cohesion, and Constitutional Affairs.

No one asked her to be anything other than what she is. She is only responding to speculations from her own dim support group. She resigned about the same position the last time we know. And does not bring in any votes anyway! Even from her own village.
