An eight-year-old boy, Tinotenda Pudu, has been found alive after surviving five harrowing days in the Matusadona Game Park in northern Zimbabwe.
The region is notorious for its dangerous wildlife, including a significant lion population. The situation unfolded when Tinotenda wandered 23 kilometres from his home, inadvertently entering the perilous reserve. During his time in the park, Tinotenda exhibited remarkable survival skills, enduring nights on rocky ledges amidst the sounds of roaring lions and roaming elephants.
He subsisted on wild fruits and utilized traditional techniques to secure drinking water by digging small wells in dry riverbeds. The search for Tinotenda involved the local Nyaminyami community, who employed drums in an effort to guide him home. However, it was ultimately the park rangers who located him.
On the fifth day of his ordeal, Tinotenda heard a ranger’s vehicle and ran toward it, though he initially escaped detection. Fortunately, the rangers returned, spotted fresh footprints, and continued their search until they were able to rescue him. Matusadona Game Park spans over 1,470 square kilometres and is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including lions, elephants, zebras, and antelope.
Historically, it was recognized for its high lion density, a fact that highlights the dangers Tinotenda faced during his ordeal. Tinotenda's remarkable survival has garnered widespread admiration on social media, with commenters expressing awe at his resilience and resourcefulness.
That is just pure luck and God's favor!!! Nothing to applaud here. No one should ever try this, regardless of how old they are.
