Mike Sonko Warns Kidero against Withdrawing Cash from County Kitty

Nairobi County Governor-elect Mike Sonko has spelt out conditions for handing over of office to him by outgoing governor Evans Kidero.

In a letter, Sonkohas directed Kidero against entering in any contract with any third party on behalf of the County government and further refrain from withdrawing any cash from the county government kitty.

“You do not withdraw any funds from the Nairobi County Account with the Central Bank,” said Mr Sonko in a letter drafted by his lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui.

Sonko further threatened to move to court, should a transition team fail to be formed by end of business Tuesday. Sonko demanded that the transition committee comprise three members from both sides.

“In the result, it is necessary to ensure a smooth transition of the reigns of power in the Nairobi City County from yourself, stem financial hemorrhage, forestall collapse of services and above all maintain accurate and proper records of county government,” read the letter in parts.

He further wants Kidero not to remove “any materials from City Hall or any other county office items of, and concerning the county including documents without consulting his three people yet to be appointed for the committee.”

Sonko also asked Kidero to reveal to the translation team of any emergency issue that require immediate attention of the Governor-elect.

By the way,MWAKILISHI, you have disappointed me,and other sports officionados by not updating your sports section. You have a beautiful sport section that you never had last year, and subsequent years. But for some reason you are not fully utilizing it.
The just concluded track and field where Kenya garnered position 2 behind USA ,this Sunday has't been mentioned.Needless to say that such an achievement is no small feat.
Kenya was superb on the last day, with Helen Obiri winning gold in 5000 meters,in aspectacular fashion. In he final lap she looked like 400 meter runner.
Few minutes later, Manangoi, and Cheruiyot mined gold and silver for Kenya.
To me this a pleasant escape from the political rumblings, especially from NASA camp.
Uhuru congratulated team Kenya for a job well done.
Even if NASA is still bitter for loosing, they should at least show appreciation, and admiration to our athletes who unite us when we watch the trounce countries with hefty sports budgets many times over than Kenya.
GONGRATULATIONS TEAM KENYA,ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVE MADE US PROUD TO BE KENYANS.

Go Sonko! That is wise, who can trust Kidero? I hope and pray that Sonko will out-shine the educated-idiot he just trounced.
