President Uhuru supporters living in the Unites States on Saturday held demonstrations in New Brunswick, New Jersey to counter protests held last week in New York by opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters.
The President's backers dismissed their Nasa counterparts and termed their calls for removal of a section of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission officials as hypocritical and selfish.
Speakers at the fairly well attended demo at Johnson Park, New Brunswick, New Jersey, castigated Nasa's calls for the changes in electoral officials, who they have accused of bungling the cancelled August 8th election.
The Jubilee supporters threw their weight behind the proposed amendments on electoral laws being pushed by Jubilee legislators on both houses of Parliament.
"We are holding this rally to show Kenyans and indeed the whole world that the Diaspora support the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Ms Serah Munyiri, one of the organizers of the demo said on Saturday.
“These Kenyans are here to express their total confidence in the President and his deputy and also urge Kenyans at home who are eligible to vote to show up in large numbers to vote for President Kenyatta."
They asked the opposition to stop mass action against the electoral commission and urged Kenyans back home to maintain peace ahead of the repeat poll scheduled for October 26th.
They commended President Uhuru Kenyatta for preaching peace and unity despite the soaring political temperatures in the country.
John Rutere, a Kenyan living in Connecticut said that Parliament should assert itself and make changes on Elections Act to address ambiguity in election management.
Rutere also accused the judiciary of “overstepping its boundaries” for what he termed as legislating from the bench by dictating how elections ought should be carried out, a function mandated to Parliament.
Munyiri, a resident of New Jersey, called on the the diaspora community to mobilize and reach out to their families and communities back in Kenya to vote President Kenyatta.
Other who spoke during the event include Ms Mary Muturi and Mr David Asige, who heavily criticized Nasa for their empty rhetoric.
"Nasa leaders had been in government for many years yet their communities continue to wallow in deep poverty," Mr Asige said.
They also urged IEBC to hold a credible, free and fair election on October 26th to avoid a constitutional crisis.

Heh @Guest1 today I support your statement :-), Freedom of Speech.
Been touched by an angel huh?
No. Touched by Freedom of Speech. Hah! Lol!!!
Just a bunch of idiots driven by tribalism. They support changing of laws in the middle of an election. Have they even read the proposed amendments? For example, any commissioner can declare a winner! Any judge can swear in a new president! Get the picture?
If it is the likes of crooked Maraga and company, I would support any judge declaring prezo. We can come back to this and review after criminal Raila has gone home
Kamau you are right. When Nasa wanted the rules change for IEBC, all the Jubilee supporters cried foul. Now, Jubilee wants to change the rules so that when they rigg the election, the Supreme Court will have no tooth to do their work. What a bunch of hypocrites. First of all, why does it say diasporians in New Jersey came out to support Uhuru? Looking at the picture, that's only 25 people. One thing I agree with these people is the freedom of speech no matter who they support.
Both NASA and Jubilee have their flaws. I cannot find anything to cheer the Jubilee. These people are fleecing our country and putting our kids and grnd kids into such a big debt. What is up with the SGR? Billions routed through procurement of course. Why did Jubilee pay for old train cars? Secondly, can anyone say these Chinese have build quality Rail? One month after they build the rail, part of it was washed away? Corruption is the one word you can sum up for what Jubilee stands for.
I live in NJ and am not calling home to ask my friends to vote for Uhuru. I am asking them to vote for whoever they think is fit to be president. Choices have consequences.
Kikuyus is New Jersey protest, with one confused Luhya married to a Kikuyu.
Just catching up on teh tribal dynamis, don't blame me.
Meanwhile, the NASA protest was tribally balanced.
How many people were in NASA protest?
How many people were in Jubilee protest? Bullshit...
Do you have to cuss to pass your message?
According to the numbers, four people attended Nasa demo...all from the Lake. They forced their kids to join, to make it seven or eight. Jubilee demo attended by many many Kenyans, and other people from other countries and races. Need I say more YOU tribalists.
Its only in Kenya, where the government supporters protest against the opposition.
This is embrassing.

Why do these idol worshipers on both sides claim to sprak for me?Even Githae can never speak for Kenyans in the US.I know of many Raila dirty plans but i am afraid even the learnt EDITORS are in denial.
I want to say that i live in New Jersy and atended the above rally where we showed our support for Uhuru/Ruto campaigns .Its poitless to expect any leadership to be flawless and what instead we ought to look at is a credible team to put to office . The Nasa team has folks who have neglected their home towns and continuencies since independence - The common man has no tarmac road and travels many miles for water and medical services . We want peace in kenya and a govenemnt at hand for a nation without a leader perishes in anarchy . Nasa should call it quits and think of the nesxt elections of 2022. Demos in Nasa strongholds of Kisumu and Kibera will not not shake the rest of Kenya . We support TANO tena Uhuru/Ruto
These Kikuyus and Jaluos..... why don't you go find another country....... the rest of Kenyans are sick of you.
I support their Freedom of Speech. Brilliant!
