Raila: I Must Deliver My People to Canaan

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has maintained that he must deliver his people to Canaan as promised.

Speaking during an interview with CNN, Odinga ruled out possibilities of entering into a dialogue with President Uhuru, stating that he would not engage a government that maims its people.

He said he will only hold discussions with the president once issues surrounding his legitimacy are addressed and police stop unleashing terror on his supporters.

"I cannot dialogue with a govt that maims its citizens."

"No more dialogue until fundamental issues of illegitimacy of president is resolved. Its unfortunate if Jubilee thinks I am power hungry to enter into power sharing deals with them to dialogue," he added.

He reassured his supporters that they will reach Canaan together, adding that Nasa will keep pushing for liberation. "I promised my people Canaan, I must deliver the promise. Canaan promise cannot be delivered through dialogue with a government that kills, arrests, tear gas its innocent citizens. We shall continue with the liberation struggle until we reach Canaan. The land free of corruption, police brutality and good governance," he told CNN.

On Tuesday, Raila announced he will be sworn in as president on December 12th, when the people's assembly convenes its sitting in Nairobi.

“Uhuru Kenyatta is not the president of Kenya. We do not recognise the October 28 election, that was a fake election. 83% of the population boycotted the election,” he said on Tuesday.

"I am not a coward, I will be sworn as president on Jamhuri Day, I am the legitimate president," said Raila.

This man baba is a joke.
Uhuru should just ignore him. I think the best thing is to declare a national prayer day so that people can pray for him. Who are his people? The canaan he keeps on talking about is just a pipe dream and hot air.

He has dementia and Alzheimer'. I think he is so fixed with chaos. He criminal and he terrorist people properties during elections

@Anonymous, Raila is not insane. When he says he will take his people to Canaan he really mean what he says. The word Canaan is just a metaphor for him. His real Canaan is death, injuries, poverty and destruction. Who can doubt he is not capable of doing that?

Raila, you will deliver your people to hell in coffins. You are 100% irrelevant and only the illiterate nincompoops and psychopaths will listen to you (their God). I bet you Raila, leave alone Canaan, you will not reach Migingo Islands. Whom are you kidding?

This sh*t is not even trending in local Kenya news, why do we need to have Baba's picture and headline here everyday with non-existent Canaan promises? Pliz, lets have more relevant political & development news rather than this old, tired looking and incorrigible mzee who has no new ideas nor purpose. Nimechoka.

The problem is not Raila now, the problem is the media. Why is the media still documenting things about Raila that they cannot verify. If Raila says 83% did not vote for Uhuru, can the media tell us how it verified this figures before reporting it. When will the parliament ever enact laws to protect the Mwananchi from fake news and media who are bound to destroy our country by repoting hearsay from a private citizen when elections have ended? Where is the parliament to pass laws about foreigners funding perpetual campaigns when the election period is gone? Where is the parliament to pass laws relating to reported matters or are Kenyans going to be held hostage by the media for the next five years by reporting useless information to derail the current government agenda? All election reporting should be stopped until another election period is declared.

Raila forgot one little point, how can he be sworn in while his VP (Kalonzo) is still in Germany with no plans of jetting in by 12/12?
