Kenya Demands Action against Suspects Captured on Camera Assaulting Two Kenyan Ladies in the Middle East

The government of Kenya has called for action against four Lebanese citizens and a military officer caught on camera assaulting two Kenyan women in a suspected racist attack.

In a video that has since gone viral online, the five were seen brutally attacking the two women in a location believed to be Burj Hammoud, Lebanon.

In a statement, Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is following up the matter with the Lebanese authorities to ensure that justice is served to the two ladies.

"We are insisting on the prosecution of the culprits so that they meet the full force of the law," the statement from the Ministry read.

"We are also demanding an apology from the Lebanese authorities," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.

One of the attackers, who is reported to be an army official in civilian clothes, is seen beating one of the defenceless ladies and grabbing her by the hair in the middle of a road.

Later, other attackers join the military man in raining blows and kicks to the two women. Lebanese publication, Daily Star reported that the Lebanese Army said the two Kenyan women were to blame for the incident.

"The two women who were drunk assaulted an Army member who was with his wife, and hit him with a bottle on his head," the publication quoted a statement from the military authorities.

As a starting, what are the names of the victim ladies? These days, a government can't use online videos to conduct its diplomacy.

@ Guest1, that is just propaganda which is thrown around in the Muslim countries against women who may be unaccompanied by men. I doubt the women were drunk let alone hitting anyone on the head. Some of these countries are just not safe for black people.

@Mugikuyu I side with you on this one.Even in Kenya drunk women dont go out hitting strange men on the streets.Even with that, most men would avoid hitting back unless they have no choice but to defend themselves.Astory like this,it helps to hear from both sides.

COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY:

If all Waheshimiwa in public and private sectors worked together to eliminate corruption, inefficiency, arrogance, greed, and micro-nationalism, our Kenyan ladies would not be "slaves" anywhere in the world.

We have to work together to clean our cities, get rid of any public servant who is corrupt, and Kenya's name will be emulated all over the world.

Our Waheshimiwa followers of the religion that was started by the son of Aisha (Mohammed) have absolutely no respect for the Africans. They sold us into slavery and are still doing the same thing in 2018.

How long are we going to blame outsiders when we cannot clean our house!

"...Na tujenge taifa letu
EE, ndio wajibu wetu
Kenya istahili heshima
tuungane mikono pamoja kazini
Kila siku tuwe na shukrani."

@Guest 1, you may have a point. You would think Amina would have done more to raise awareness but she did not and she knows how her distant relas have done to us in the past. If she was one of those women on the video her head would still have been drummed up like they did to the women. Perhaps she would have been drummed harder because she is supposed to be wearing a hijab and she does not. Haiya. That said I still commend her for the Obama visit and bringing investments driven conferences to NRB.

If we stop looting our nation and build a strong economy, our people will get jobs and not going to foreign countries where they are mistreated and abused. No one respects us because of our behaviors. Corruption, greed, hatred among others. Now we’re feeding our people with conterminated food staff.

Kenyan govt has not protected any Kenyan anywhere right from Migingo where we have given the territory to Uganda. So to assume that Kenyans abroad can be protected by GOK is a farfetched dream.
