A Kenyan woman working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates has reportedly been killed by her employer.
Marion Mary Machuma, who hails from Kisumu, was allegedly beaten to death by her employer on July 17th. The employer is said to have later contacted police claiming that the house help had fallen down the stairs.
Doctors who examined her on the scene said there were signs of torture as the deceased had bruises on her body.
The Director of Crime at Dubai Police, Colonel Ahmed Al Marri said the body was taken to forensic lab for an analysis, where it was found that she had severe injuries on some parts of her body, with some of them occurring before her death.
Neighbors who were interrogated by police said they heard screams from the suspect’s home before the police showed up.
Police said the suspect’s husband had erroneously sent a text message to the victim’s friend saying, “I warned her not to hit the maid and now she is involved in a murder case.”
The suspect is reported to have admitted to hitting her after she was confronted by police officers.

Grammar. INSTEAD of saying "The suspect is reported to have admitted to hitting her after she was confronted by police officers." It should instead read: "After the Suspect was Confroned by Police, she is reported to have admitted to hitting her."
Its so unfortunate. This killer should be hanged. Most likely this Kenyan Lady was defenseless.Yes slave-trade mentality is still pervasive in the Arab World. For the love of me, I cannot fathom areason for a man to beat a young girl to death...If she is not doing agood job, just fire her.She has a family who loves her why deprive them of their loved one maliciously?Terrible loss. There is no adequate compensation for this loss. But the culprit should also lose his life.
This government need to learn the history of slavery. All need to read "Roots" and ask why there are no blacks in the Middle East? Were those who were there castrated,or killed? This way our leaders will know what kind of contracts they are signing on behalf of Kenyans with foreign governments. In this case, they signed a death sentence for the people they are entrusted to represent.
Hawa Ndugu zetu Waarabu ninawajua.
@ Imara, hata hawastaili kuitwa ndugu.99%,of terrorists ni waislamu. What does that tell you about them.Ulifanya vizuri kutoka nchi yao kabla wakumalize...
Please leave Islam as a religion alone, Instead it's all about racism, but not religious matters. it's too unfortunate.
Yes it's too unfortunate that most of the terrorists are muslimd. You cannt deny that fact.
Tabitha you are very correct,..in Kenyan ispokuwa ni wizi tunapesa za kutosha Kama juzi mladi ya nys ilianzwa wakaiba pesa anyway Kwa sasa youth wamewachwa wakiteseka and that's why they are looking forward to have another feature in other countrie and...because Kenyan if full off corruption they don't care about others kazi yao ni wizi bila huruma, thats why Kenya yeti imefilisika
Oh please!!! Enough is enough, can our government do something!!!. Can media through tv, radios through places of worship bring awareness to this guys. Can our government create more jobs!. It is so sad and painful and our hearts go to the family. May she rest in peace
Slavery in middle East is too much. But our government and people are too desperate for money they can't listen or take a step.
Ndugu @Maxiley, Nimesikia mawaidha yako. Ningependa kujua, je, ndugu yako wa damu (baba na mama mmoja) akigeuka na kuwa mwizi au mwuuaji, utaacha kumwita ndugu yako?
Nita mrenounce...
My prayers go to God. May you help this family father.
And those good readers, let Mwakilishi trace the family and set up a help line.
Thanks.
Yet another victim of Kenyan leaders' incompetence. If Kenyan leaders had effectively tackled poverty in years past, we wouldn't be mourning Marion Mary Machuma today! Some may blame her because they have no clue how poverty can drive one to the extremes, including to death and slavery. Same phenomenon driving many of our fellow African brothers and sisters to die trying to cross the Mediterranean seeking a better future in Europe. Many may not see the connection between massive corruption & mal-governance in the country and the death of innocent Kenyans abroad but if we had elected better leaders capable of managing our country's affairs, we wouldn't be here crying. Folks, rise up and THINK!
1st and foremost may she rest in peace.
2ndly, middle east countries have given us a second chance in life.
we are 1million plus in all gulf countries especially dubai.
nobody can tolerate the kind of life we are having in kenya of corruption and nepotism and murder of innocent lives.
the law is highly respected here, it shall be followed.they will pay for it mercilessly. I've seen locals here facing the law.
in the meantime, alot of worse things happen in kenya, let's not exergerate these things.
You tell her family",let's not exaggerate things".
May she rest in peace. she is my cousin and has left us great pain. UAE surely
Even though many Kenyans are truly Desperate for Jobs: I hated the Idea of the hitherto Foreign Minister (Amina Mohammed) ratifying a Deal for Sending Kenyan Workers to the Middle East. For me: Her ratifyimg this Bad idea Turned her from Minister to MONISTER right before my Eyes.
