Catholic Priest John Njoroge of Kinoo Parish Shot Dead by Robbers while Leaving Banking Hall

A Catholic priest has been killed by suspected robbers in Kiambu’s Kinoo area on Monday morning.

Father John Njoroge, a priest at Kinoo Parish in Kiambu was reportedly leaving a banking hall in company of a staff member of the parish when the incident happened.

Kiambu County Police Commander Andiel Nyange says four men on two motorbikes blocked the priest's vehicle and instructed him to surrender a bag that allegedly contained an unknown amount of cash.

One of the criminals shot the clergyman in the chest through the windscreen before leaving the scene using the motorcycles.

“All the money he had in a bag was stolen. We don’t know the amount but we are investigating. The robbers stole the phone of an occupant in the Father’s car,” says Nyange.

The Father was rushed to Kikuyu Hospital but was announced dead on arrival.

You took the money, why Did you take away his life too? Wananchi should be vigilant at all times. Record such criminal activities and give eye witness evidence- help police apprehend these lunatics who have contempt for human life. RIP Father.

Sukari, when something like this happens, I always wonder what separates the perpetrators from me and the rest of law abiding citizens.Do these people have any conscience? Even when somebody kills in self defense, he or she is usually traumatized to some degree. But I dont believe wanton willing like this one is committed by people with a conscience.Unless they are mentally deranged, the question now becomes,"who made them that way,if its the society as awhole, then we need to retrace our steps back and see where we deviated .
Undoubtedly, this kind of crimes are aresult of moral decadence of a society. Yes it takes a village to raise a child.Yes there was a time when misbehaving kids where afraid of aparent getting wind of their mischief.Today, the parent wants to beat the teacher...

One very effective strategy of dealing with gun thugs: Treat every illegal gun holder as an enemy of the state & SHOOT them on sight (DO NOT ARREST!!) Period! The only people who should wield guns are members of the security forces, period!

Ndugu na dada zangu wakristo wanaamimi ya kwamba watakapokufa, watakwenda "mbinguni." Kama ni kweli, mkristo John Njoroge yuko pamoja na Mwana mariamu mbinguni sasa!

There must be a special corner reserved in hell for some of our mikoras.
One, you dont have to kill or injure your victim once you have gotten your loot. Two, a priest? Surely even you mukora have to know that a priest normally is in the service of wananchi for minimal financial gains. Again, why?
