14 Riverside Terror Attack: 14 People Confirmed Dead, 700 Rescued

President Kenyatta says 14 people have been confirmed dead following Tuesday afternoon terror attack at the 14 Riverside Dusit complex in Westlands, Nairobi.
Addressing the nation from State House Nairobi on Wednesday morning, President Kenyatta has further confirmed that about 700 people have been rescued from the building and the gunmen involved in the attack have been eliminated.
“The security operation at Dusit is over and the terrorists eliminated. As of this moment, we have confirmation that 14 innocent lives were lost through the hands of these murderous terrorists with other injured,” says Kenyatta.
He has also assured the nation that security forces will pursue and arrest all those involved in planning, facilitating or funding the terrorists.
“We will seek out every person that was involved in the funding, planning, and execution of this heinous act. We will pursue relentlessly wherever they will be until they are held to account,” he assures.
“We are a nation that never forgets those who hurt our children. We are grieving as a country and my heart goes out to all the innocent men and women violated by the senseless violence,” says Kenyatta.
Somalia-based terror organization Al-Shabaab has since claimed responsibility for the attack.
"We are behind the attack in Nairobi. The operation is going on. We shall give details later," Abdiasis Abu Musab, Al Shabaab's military operations spokesman told Reuters.

Having seen images of the dead terrorists, I can now comment that our security forces we're up to the challenge this time. Response was swift, they were able to contain these thugs and help hundreds of civilians escape. That in itself is laudable. To the families of those who didn't make it, my solemnmost condolences. I stand with Kenya.

Lets thank the average Kenyan who went out of their way to help their own fellow human beings, they had no titles , some from watching clips were ordinary workers in the hotel ,guests, passerbys' the UNSUNG heros who had no training but braved bullets to save others , lest we forget they exist.

Coming from the PR statehouse I expect the dead to be more, the rescued to be fewer and the promised actions to be forgotten as soon as he leaves the podium and goes back to his favourite pastime.
