Kenyan Men Hatch Plan to Evade Valentine's Day

alentine’s Day is a day when people celebrate their loved ones by showing their affection by showering them with gifts and dinner. This love definitely does not come cheap.

Kenyan men in a bid to escape this reality a few days ago hatched a plan and came up with an excuse, not even their wives could say no to. ‘The Men’s Conference’.

The trending conference that has left social media platforms lit is where most men will be hanging out for the better part of 14th-16th February.

Some of the keynote speakers include Jackson Kibor, an 85-year-old polygamist who has divorced two women in 14 months.

Of course, the conference is total fiction, but this has not prevented scores of Kenyan men from posting reminders, invitations and also photos of themselves attending the ‘conference’.

The men cleverly coordinated the dates to coincide with Valentine’s Day in order to save themselves some dime by not taking their significant others for say, expensive candlelit dinners, buying them extravagant gifts and even for the common mwananchi, getting out of an ordinary lunch or better yet dinner.

Though the location of the conference remains undisclosed in most of the invitations, itineraries were released and they’re as amusing as the escape plan itself.

In some of the social media posts put up by attendees, the conference is full to capacity and some of the men are still reporting.

Security at the conference is said to be tighter than tight.

In one unfortunate incident, one of the attendees left their phone unlocked at home which caused him to collapse after realising this might be his last free pass.

Some of the men (Caretakers Association) however declined to attend the conference and in turn, thanked the men who attended for leaving their significant others in capable hands.

Some of the women are choosing to call out the men on their lie and it is hilarious.

Kenyan men, you do not need to go hide somewhere under the guise of conference to escape from the pain of Valentine. True to our culture and long before there was any Valentine, we loved, adored and appreciated our wives and loved ones. VALENTINE is a commercialization of love and emotions that creates unnecessary competition and envy in our society. I am afraid some homes will end up with beautiful roses but not enough food for the family. Let us all be awake and celebrate our African cultures where we treat our families with respect and in high regard not on a specific day but throughout the year. Let it be a day of knowing and appreciating who we are.
God bless all Kenyan Men, Women and
children!!
