'We Will Deal with Him:' Orengo Hints at Ruto’s Impeachment

Leaders drawn from the ODM have hinted at pushing for the impeachment of Deputy President William Ruto over allegations of dishonoring and disrespecting the presidency.

Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the leaders on Saturday vowed to deal with Ruto through constitutional means.

They cited the use of Ruto’s Harambee Annex office by criminals to broker the alleged Sh39 billion fake military equipment deal and the heinous murder of his security officer Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei as some of the actions that have brought the deputy president’s office into disrepute.

"Watch this space. In two weeks we will start the process that will see us deal with him," said Orengo, who spoke at the burial of University of Nairobi lecturer Prof Gilbert Ogutu.

The leaders further said Ruto should be compelled to record statements regarding the killing of Kenei as well as the fake tender scam.

"It seems the DP occupied his office without fully understanding the provisions of the law. I hope he is being investigated because what we have on record now is sufficient to institute investigations against him," added Orengo.

"The DP is exhibiting a degree of ignorance by making careless utterances and comments on the probe, which is unbelievable."

Orengo, who is also the leader of the minority in the Senate, also accused Ruto of interfering with investigations into the two incidents by discrediting the work of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

At the same time, Orengo downplayed claims by Ruto that the ‘system’ is targeting him. "The system is yet to be mobilized against you. You will feel the heat if the state begins mobilizing its apparatus to deal with you. We have been there; we know what it feels like," he said.

Those who recalls mobster, Al-Capone, knows very well how he kindly spoke of all the innocent victims he had sanctioned their killing.

AlCapone sat at the “alter of honor” to witness the burial of his victims. AlCapone even claimed the murdered victims were killed to revenge his good works.

Al-Capone always created an atmosphere of fear by publicly claiming his enemies (opponents) are killing innocent people and are about to kill him. Al-Capone always made himself the victim to steal sympathy from the murdered victims.

As Al-Capone continued to kill more victims as confused family members watched with doubts and fear. Al-Capone eloquently pressured the government of the day to do thorough investigations and tell the people who killed every one of his victims.

When the public came to realize what kind of damage Al-Capone had done to their families, it was too late.

Is Kenya in that stage where the “Al-Capone” in the Harambee House Office is now eloquently claiming to be the victim to overshadow all those he has killed - Juma, Yebei, Musando, Kenei, etc?????

Ruto is talking too much. Ruto has severely exposed himself in regard to Kenei’s murder. He has boxed himself inside a heavy metal box, and thrown away the keys to unlock him out. Ruto lacks protocol discipline in every way. You can call his outbursts, kicks of a dying donkey!

The more Ruto talks, the worse matters get for him. Ruto’s reckless talks have caused him to be a suspicious and a marked man.

Evan the best known Magician, the HUDINI, can not now pull Ruto out of the thick box he has nailed himself in! Only time will tell where Ruto falls next!

It's strange how some people want to attack Ruto and want him not to exercise his right of defense. Ruto has a right of reply.
