Isaac Rutto’s CCM to Sign Coalition Agreement with Uhuru-Led Jubilee Party
Isaac Rutto-led Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) is set to enter into a post-election agreement with President Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
CCM Chairman Mohammed Guleid, through Twitter on Thursday, May 14th, said the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC)—the top decision-making organ—had resolved to form a coalition with Jubilee ahead of the 2022 election.
“The leadership of the Chama Cha Mashinani led by former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and former Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot and the National Executive Committee (NEC) has jointly resolved to form a post-election coalition agreement with Jubilee Party,” Guleid wrote.
“The pact will be deposited with the registrar of political parties for formal signing soon. Mashinani Kenya will always be in defense of devolution and fight for equity,” he added.
Reports on Wednesday, May 13th claimed that President Kenyatta sent a helicopter to fly Rutto from Bomet to State House for a meeting and could be offered a position in the Cabinet.
Rutto, who supported ODM leader Raila Odinga in the last election under the Nasa coalition, lost his Bomet Governor seat to the late Dr. Joyce Laboso, who succumbed to cancer last year.
He later ditched Nasa and declared support for President Kenyatta after the Supreme Court ordered a repeat presidential election.
The development comes a week after Jubilee Party signed a post-poll agreement with Kanu, which saw West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio become the new Senate Majority Leader, taking over from his Elgeyo-Marakwet counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen who was removed following a State House meeting on Monday.

Recycling time for the political garbage in Kenya in readiness for 2022 election rigging all in earnest. People, don't forget, this is the same imbecile that rushed for a bandage from South Africa after a minor political skirmishes that his big mouth incited in a political rally yet, people in his own county couldn't afford simple medication for their comfort. We need new blood, new leaders- no dynasties, no corruption gurus-should be in charge to mismanage our country any more.
