Jeff Koinange Speaks from Isolation After Testing Positive, Says Covid-19 is Real

Celebrated Citizen TV journalist Jeff Koinange is self-isolating at home after he tested positive for Covid-19 this week.
Koinange, who is asymptomatic, talked about his life in isolation during a video interview with his co-host Victoria Rubadiri on Citizen TV on Wednesday night.
He said he does not feel ill although he at times loses appetite and taste for food as well as drinks. He said his biggest challenge has been to adjust to a new lifestyle as he is accustomed to busy daily schedules.
“It is complete madness because the clock in my head still wakes up at 4 am. I’m walking around the house until 6 am when the show [his breakfast show at Hot 96 FM] begins.”
“I can’t go back to bed because my mind is programmed to radio and after that, I start cooling down asking myself what I should do,” he said.
Jeff, 54, said he is spending most of his time watching movies on Netflix and walking around the compound.
He suspects he contracted the virus after coming into contact with an infected person at his workplace.
"If you ask me where I got it, it’s probably at the radio station because someone at Citizen tested positive and they were asked who they had come into contact with and I was one of them," Koinange said as he warned Kenyans to treat the virus seriously.
“Luckily for me, my family, my wife, and son have both tested negative."
“Make no doubt about it, this thing is real as CS Mutahi Kagwe always says, you can get it, I have got it. Don’t take this lightly, treat it seriously; this thing is no joke.”
Kenya has so far recorded 15,601 cases of Covid-19 and 263 fatalities. A total of 7,135 of those infected have recovered from the virus .
