Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu Asks President Uhuru for Forgiveness

Former Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu has issued an apology to President Kenyatta for engaging in early 2022 campaigns.
Speaking during an interview on NTV on Thursday, Waititu also apologized to Uhuru on behalf of his colleagues, who ignored the party leader’s warning against engaging in premature campaigns.
“I ask for forgiveness from the president because I took part in politics, but it seemed the campaigns went overboard when he asked us not to engage in politics. The campaigns exceeded expectations from the view we had at the beginning,” said Waititu.
He further clarified that he does not belong to any of the two Jubilee party factions—Kieleweke and Tangatanga.
“I am not in Kieleweke, neither am I a member of Tangatanga. I am just a normal citizen,” Waititu affirmed.
He also used the interview to address his relationship with impeached Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who previously claimed that they used to smoke marijuana together in parliament.
Waititu, who was impeached as the Governor for Kiambu in January 2020, stated that he does not harbor hard feelings towards Sonko because he understands his character.
"Sonko was my friend even before we became governors... we don't see each other and I don't have a grudge towards him," Waititu said.
"The way I know Sonko he can say anything... I have never smoked cigarettes, bhang abused drugs, I don't even take alcohol, I am very sober... for him to say that I was smoking bhang with him I don't worry about that because I know he can say anything," he added.

All good Waititu; all good! But what about our money? The huge sums of cash you stole from the poor people! Do you remember that? We will fully forgive if you return every penny of the money you maliciously stole from us! That is the bottom line!
