Kivutha Kibwana Ditches Wiper, to Run for Presidenct on Muungano Party
Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has ditched Wiper Democratic Movement and rejoined the Muungano party.
Kibwana announced he will contest for the presidency on a Muungano party ticket and will formally launch his 2022 presidential bid in Nairobi soon.
The two-time governor joined Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper from Muungano in the run-up to the 2017 general elections.
Kibwana, who served as Wiper’s Chairman, often clashed with Musyoka due to what he termed as ideological differences between them.
“There have been issues within the party, especially between myself and the party leader. I sat down with the people of Makueni and told them I could no longer be the (Wiper) party Chair and they said it was fine as it is not mandatory for me to hold that position in order to serve them,” Kibwana said earlier this year.
Last month, Wiper wrote to Kibwana asking him to explain why he should not be expelled for allegedly undermining the party leader.
Kibwana dared the party to expel him saying, “I cannot stop them from ejecting me from the party. If I’m no longer useful to the party, I cannot stop them from doing what they want.”

The man to heart all these old timers in governor Mutua of Machakos! He can do a better job rebuilding Kenya. I wouldn’t compare Mutua with Ruto because there is no comparison! Ruto has stolen our coffers and have murdered many Kenyans! Ruto does not deserve to be on the presidential ticket! He is just a greedt dog that wants to steal even more as he protects himself from the long arm of the ICC!
