President Ruto Gets New Aide-De-Camp, Col. Fabian Lengusuranga

President Ruto has appointed Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga from the Kenya Army as his Aide-De-Camp (ADC).

Col. Lengusuranga takes over from Stelu Lekolool, who has been serving as the ADC to former President Uhuru Kenyatta since 2018. Lekolool was promoted to the rank of Brigadier a few months ago and has since been deployed to the Department of Defense (DoD) headquarters.

The new ADC is a seasoned and decorated military officer serving as a senior Special Forces branch commander. He was commissioned in 1999.

Lieutenant Colonel Damaris Agnetta from the Kenya Army will deputize Lengusuranga. She takes over from the Kenya Air Force’s Racheal Nduta Kamui, who was also recently promoted to a full Colonel and has been deployed to the DoD headquarters.

Lt. Col. Agnetta was commissioned in 2003 and has been serving as an Artillery officer. She has also served in the UN Observer Mission.

The ADC serves as a symbol of authority and dignity for the presidency and assists on matters of security, protocol, and military tradition. The ADC is normally a highly-trained senior military officer and is required to be part of the president’s itinerary at all times.

I have never fully understood the function of an Aide-De-Camp. Besides that, why have a full fledged Brigadier doing such an inconsequential ceremonial detail which can be done by a buck private? Could it be he carries the nuclear codes for the President?

Yup, the Barrett is the ugly guy I was referring to my fren!

The other one was more presentable!

I wished Ruto would get rid of these archaic strongmen symbol for good along with ridiculous portraits!

We don’t need those oppressive symbols! We need total emancipation!

He doesn't need to stand behind the president like a shadow, that's unnecessary. He can be part of the entourage and be out of sight, but present.
