Kenyan Mother, Her Two Daughters Killed in a Suspected Murder-Suicide in Louisville, Kentucky

Police in Louisville, Kentucky are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that killed four people among them a Kenyan woman and her two daughters.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) received a report of a shooting just after 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the 4500 block of East Pages Lane in Valley Station, WAVE 3 News reported.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found four people dead including an adult man, an adult woman, and two juvenile girls, according to a spokesperson for the LMPD.

The police department said the incident appeared to be a murder-suicide and that all four victims were members of the same family. Officers believe the man was the one responsible for initiating the alleged murder-suicide.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man shot the adult female and the two juveniles girls before turning the gun on himself. Further investigations by the LMPD's Homicide Unit are ongoing.

Betty Achapa, a Kenyan entrepreneur based in the US, identified the victims as Njoki Muchemi Stanton and her daughters Adrianne and Brianna while the husband’s name is Jery Stanton.

Here comes the Christmas season! December is always associated with escalation of family related murders & or domestic violence!

So, very sad indeed! The innocent children didn’t get a chance to grow up & experience life!

@ GG,I thought many people associcate Chrismas season with giving, forgiving, loving, holiness, sharing, and remembering the birth of son of Mariam,as Ndugu Imara Daima would put? But, Iam also mindful that, the holiday season can put alot of demands on families in terms of gifts, donations, vacations, gatherings, and spending limited resources on" unfriendly" guests. That said, we do not know what exactly triggered this heinous crime, yet.Nontheless, I cannot begin to comprehend how someone can kill his wife, children that he professes to love.Iam sure its safe to assume that he loved his family, despite what happened. Maybe he didnot love himself. It all begins with the individual.

Ladies, wives, girlfriends, stop nagging your men, hubbys, boyfriends! They don’t have as big mouths to run, but they may go mad, that is insane! And you pay the price! Real Life Events

So sad. Why? During my studies in college on mentalnhealth in Black Americans in 2000, the course didn't make sense then. But traits of depession or unspoken mental health in African Americans is real, as I interact with them on daily basis. Particularly mood swings, mostly associated with bipolar symptoms, is a common phenomenon here in my place of work. Outbursts and out-of-the blues curses and uncontrolled anger is an ugly scenario in most African Americans as in their counterparts the caucasians. And to me, the moment you identify an individual with such repetative recurrences, the faster I keep off from them to avoid an escalated altercation. As sad it really is, I dont understand why professionals missed those cues and clues. Magonjwa ya kiakili inawagusa wote hata Wakenya wenzetu. Kuna wawili watatu ambao kingo zao zinafikia upeoni, na sidhani familia wana hali walionayo wapendwa wao. May their innocent souls rest in eternal peace.

Kenyans get killed by other Kenyans, you say nothing. Terrorism in Kenya, you say nothing. When an American kills a Kenyan (which isn’t common) now they have bipolar issues and all these other problems. It’s funny how mental health problems run rampant all around the world but yet you think Kenyans are somehow exempt from them or perfect. You’re no better than anyone else. You all don’t suffer any less, your culture just forces you to hide it.

What really happened is a no brainer for any brother who's been married to a Kenyan woman. She needed him no more, she was going to leave him and take the children, and he couldn't take it. It happens times without number and only the strongest of men are able to deal with it and move on. I am one.
