Kenyans in India Asked to Contact Embassy Amid COVID-19 Surge

Kenyans in India have been asked to contact Kenya’s High Commission in New Delhi following a surge in COVID-19 infections and deaths in the Asian country.
In a statement, Kenya’s High Commissioner in India Willy Bett urged Kenyans to furnish the mission with their personal information to help it update its register.
They are required to provide their names as they appear in the passport, passport numbers, contacts, physical address, and location in India, as well as the purpose of visit for accountability and decision-making processes.
At the same time, Bett assured Kenyans in India that the Indian government is putting in place measures aimed at curbing the rate of COVID-19 infections.
The commission further advised Kenyans in India to form WhatsApp groups to ease communication in case of an eventuality.
About 1,000 Kenyans are reported to be living in New Delhi and other parts of the populous nation. Many other Kenyans visit India for specialized medical treatment.
On Saturday, India’s COVID-19 caseload rose by 346,786, setting a new world record for the third day in a row as overwhelmed hospitals begged for oxygen supplies.
The government deployed military planes and trains to get oxygen from the far corners of the country to Delhi, which is recording one COVID-19 death every four minutes.
India also registered 2,624 COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, the highest daily rate for the country so far, with crematoriums around Delhi announcing they were filled up and asked grieving families to wait.
The country has now recorded a total of 16.6 million cases and 189,544 deaths.

Aw c,mon you know how it works dont you??!!!
First, a database has been "setup" for the COVID kenyans, next depending on the number that come forth, justify the hiring of "consultants" for a gameplan, then a committee will be setup to write a report which we shall see 2 years later. In the meantime dear Bahindi kenyans dont get sick, dont expect much aid from the embassy, dont even think they will fly stranded kenyans home and not even your dead body will go back unless you or yours part with a huge fee and "bribe" your way to returning home. Youve been given the real deal free of charge.
You are welcome.
