Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Esther Ngero has resigned.
Ms Ngero is the first senior official in Ruto's government to resign. Six days ago, she was transferred from the Office of the Principal Cabinet Secretary to the State Department for Performance Management and Delivery Services in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration. Before her transfer to the Ministry of Home Affairs, she worked with Principal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs Aurelia Rono in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
In a statement on Tuesday, Head of Public Service Felix Koskei disclosed that Ngero resigned due to 'personal reasons'. She worked as an accountant for the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi. According to Koskei, President Ruto has since received Ms Ngero's resignation letter. Mr Koskei in a letter commended the former PS for her stint in office.
"Ms Ngero has been instrumental in putting in place the institutional framework to support the implementation of public service performance management and monitoring for the ministries, government departments and government agencies," the letter reads.
Koskei's statement highlighted that Ngero rose to the ranks of Principal Secretaries in December 2022. Before his entry into government, she worked in the petroleum industry for two decades. Ngero has held the government position for five months.

Nonsense bitch! Wewe nafiria kama nyoka! Shetani wa Shakahola! So you think it is ok for a woman to be sexually harassed in the work place? Stale and archaic mentality ya Wakale! Mjinga wewe!
That’s how it’s supposed to work! If you can’t endure the heat in the kitchen, get the hell out of the kitchen!!!
This woman was forced out possibly to make room for a "Kip" somebody. Government workers do not resign in Kenya. Period.
Some people would rather be jobless than being smeared with mad
Many will resign from Ruto’s regime of thieves! Not every body who is a thief in Kenya! Anyway, Kenya has been rendered broke by Ruto and there is no money to pay civim servants.
I know what happened?
Kudos to Ms Ngero!
When you see the ship sinking, it’s best to jump out and swim to shore!
She leaves with her reputation intact!
Good to see some have pride and respect their names, and do not want to be used as conduits in this corruption-filled administration!
Can the writer clarify how the cabinet suffered?Do you mean she is the only one who can hold that position?Somebody might have demanded her NDURUME to continue as PS but she declined and chose to leave. She might also have landed a better job than the one she had whose major function is looting.
