Mother Appeals for Help After US Marine Son Goes Missing During Vacation in Puerto Rico

A US Marine Samuel Muturi Wanjiru vanished while on vacation in Puerto Rico with his girlfriend leaving his family distraught.

The incident occurred on March 27 and despite extensive efforts to locate him, his whereabouts remain unknown. Muturi's mother recounts the sequence of events in a recent interview. Her son had traveled to Puerto Rico to celebrate his birthday and had contacted her upon arrival, assuring her of the destination's safety.

The following day, the couple went swimming in the ocean. While his girlfriend opted to leave the water early, Muturi continued enjoying himself. Tragically, a powerful wave knocked him down, and he was never seen again. The mother expresses utter disbelief, emphasizing that her son was swimming near the shore in an area deemed safe, without the need for lifeguard supervision.

She conveys her growing despair as days have turned into weeks with no sign of Muturi. Disappointingly, she laments a lack of substantial support from the US military in the search efforts. Highlighting her son's exemplary service, the mother describes him as a decorated Marine, recognized for his exceptional skills. In the face of this crisis, she has reached out to the public, pleading for both financial and emotional assistance.

The family desperately hopes to locate their son and is seeking the kindness and prayers of the community.

Ndugu @ PPPian:

Bayolojia (biology) inatufundisha ya kwamba, ili mtoto awe kijusi (fetus), huchukua kromosomu 23 kutoka kwa mama, na nyingine 23 kutoka kwa baba.
Mimi mwenyewe hutumia majina matatu:

I did work with one Pastor while on a park with a section where water was kind of stagnant and ducks were floating, he warned me that there are water spirits. that can pull you into the water>> to be careful not to walk too close. I did not take him serious or dive deep on this issue. Hopefully the authorities and the fiancée support in finding the young Man.

This waves can sweep someone so far into the ocean that when they come up, they might continue swimming into the ocean instead of out of it. I can not start imagining the confusion and shock and struggle this young man endured in attempt to find his way out of the ocean. May God give his mother strength for whatever is in front of her! This is tough.

Sad story but sometimes we wonder how the devil works. They left nice places and secure beaches in US mainland and went to go spanish territory even though it's part of U.S. After watched her interview by Damaris. And she said that she has not received any assistance from the US marine, there is something not right somewhere. Something is hidden 🫥. The story is not complete. Always marine or US Army could run the same day they heard the sad news. They could be camping there.

@sokoro, your post doesn’t make much sense. What does PR have to do with this drowning? People drown every day in US mainland, it has nothing to do with the devil. Secondly, the US Coast Guard searched for him for over 4 days. When someone drowns along the coastline, its not the marines or army that looks for them, it’s the CG which is a branch of the U S Military.
Try and be informed sometimes.

Rip tides are dangerous waves that start acting out from around 6pm. The strength of these tides varies and strengthens depending on, in my little know-know, a combination of factors eg altitude, geographical time zones, etc. Tidal waves progresses as sun-set nigh. They are like devil knocking you down and pulling you towards the gates of of hell. Rip tides are severe as at night. Along the Atlantic Ocean especially at Ocean and Atlantic cities, Virginia Beach, Myrtle beach all the way to Florida, life guards clear the beaches from 5pm. I don't know what happened to this young man, but as a marine, he should have undergone training on behavioral patterns of oceans at different times. Praying that they find him alive so that his mom can get peace.

If you do not know how to swim stay away from the water period especially in an area with no lifeguards .Do not test Mother Nature

The aGīkūyū were initially a matriarchal society and despite converting to a patriarchal society, the clans are still named for Mūmbi's daughters. The traditions changed but not completely. Though we are aGīkūyū, we belong to nyūmba(house) ya Mūmbi. In the language, my sister or brother are my mother's daughter and my mother's son respectively. We also have a long history of single mothers dating back to Wamūyū(the 10th daughter) where the tradition of taking the mother's name appears to have started. Simply stated, we revere our mothers. Why would you ask Mūmbi's children to abandon a harmless tradition that goes back to the beginning to satisfy modern day or foreign sensibilities? We've lost much but these are our roots.
