The body a Kenyan man was found lying on the side of a road in Lakewood, Washington on Monday, January 2nd.

Police say a passerby called 911 after seeing the body lying against the fence of a boat repair business near Tacoma Mall Boulevard.

According to police, the man, believed to be in his 20s, “likely died after drinking, using drugs and passing out in the cold.” Detectives say they found alcohol and drugs on the man, adding that the man had no clear signs of trauma or internal injuries. Authorities are however waiting on toxicology reports from Pierce County medical examiners to determine the exact cause of death.

The man’s name is yet to be released pending notification of his family.
