US-based Kenyan Akorino man, Dr. David Waigwa Wachira has finally tied the knot with her longtime fiancée, Cecilie Olaussen.

The two lovebirds exchanged marriage vows during a colorful private ceremony held in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, according to reports.

The wedding was initially set to be held earlier this year but was postponed following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the US.

“The Lord is gracious. He has given Tabitha and I another daughter. Meet Cecilie Wachira, wife to Dr. David Waigwa Wachira. To God be all the glory!” Wachira’s father Rev Dr. Solomon Waigwa wrote after the ceremony.

He added: “Thank you all for your prayers. We had a great wedding here in Dallas.”

The ceremony was attended by a few family members and friends. The newlyweds later held a photoshoot wearing different designs including kitenges.

Wachira works with the World Bank as a Public Finance and Governance Specialist while Cecilie is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Washington, D.C.

Here are some photos of the bride and groom;

... the name to note is Wachira... I don't believe that Kikuyus in Nyeri, or Kirinyaga, are real Kikuyus...

Interesting. The bulk of my relatives living outside Nairobi and Ruiru live between Mathira and Kagumo. The clan is Munjiru which if memory serves was descended from one of Gikuyu na Mumbi's nine daughters. No one ever told me Mumbi had a side piece and Wanjiru was illegitimate. Where are you getting this info? Cite references. Turia Mumbi

... have you ever noticed that only Nyeri Men Marry outside Kikuyuland, and only Nyeri Women are Married outside Central? Wachira, Wang'ombe, Ndegwa, Wang'ondu, Mathenge, etc, etc are names from Nyeri. You don't have them in the rest of Central. In the meantime, Kikuyu Women, who are 'Side dishes' to non Kikuyu Men, like the Nairobi MCA, who bore a Child for the late Kibra MP, or the Laikipia Women's rep who is having an open affair with a married Kalenjin Lawyer, are all from Nyeri.

I find mwakilishi reporting very unobjective and wanting. Just a man has wedded. Why emphasize the mukorino/ religion on the reporting. Are mukorinos lesser human beings??? If it was any other nondemoniation or other denomination other than mukorino would they still report it?? " US based kenyan catholic man finally ties the knot...."

@jammadar - Mwakilishi reports what comes from the general public; just like they have published your reservations about their reporting of the mukorino’s weeding!

They could have refused to write your UNobjective story here. So both the mukorino and you have hugely benefit from Mwakilishi!

You should write them a “thank you” note for giving your unobjective complaint some audience here! You can also tell them when you are getting married so they can also publish your wedding! Plus the photos if I may add!

Totally agree @Jammadar. What’s the big deal here? Is this news? After all we know black men likes to marry wazungu women. These wazungu women are always after the pocket. Wanapenda mtu ako na mali.

I think that people are overlooking the the real issues here. The real issues, from experience, are not Race, Background, Skin color, height, or Public Opinion. They are more basic than that. Even before you go to the bedroom, come to the food... can he go for three days without Ugali Matumbo, with Sukuma Wiki? And can she entertain such 'delicious' food, unknown to her? Who is going to eat all that Chrorophyl and Posho? And foregore cheese, bacon and eggs, which are cheaper here than Collard greens, AKA Sukuma Wiki? I Challenge everyone who has commented here to remind @Mwakilishi to tell us the status of this Couple, three months from now.

@Ras Menelik, agree with your point. With the way we know the Wakorino are so obsessed with the Kiremba, how comes this woman didn't wear one? I am sure, the guy was given a lot of rules of her not wearing the Kiremba. As I said earlier, if the guy was a poor Mukorino I don't think he could have married a "white chic"...wanapenda pesa na mali. Barely I have seen any of them being independent without being a dependant.
