Former Machakos Senator Muthama Threatens to Organize Citizen's Arrest on Governor Alfred Mutua

Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has called for the arrest of Governor Alfred Mutua over corruption allegations.

Muthama has asked the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to arrest Governor Mutua, failure to which he will organize a citizen’s arrest.

"If authorities cannot arrest Mutua, the Constitution provides for citizen's arrest...I will personally lead Machakos residents in storming Mutua's office to arrest him and parade him in court," says Muthama.

Muthama claims that Mutua has pumped billions of shillings towards several projects in the county but that there is nothing to show on the ground.

Muthama claims he is in possession of evidence linking Mutua to corruption, stating that he is ready to forward it to the EACC and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to aid in the Governor's prosecution.

He also says that the level of corruption in Machakos cannot be compared to any other county.
