'Uhuru and I Are Inseparable', DP Ruto Says over 'Fake' Daily Nation Article

Deputy President William Ruto on Monday blasted Daily Nation over an article claiming that his dalliance with President Kenyatta was on the rocks.

In a front-page article titled ‘How Uhuru pulled a fast one on Ruto’, the publication claimed that Ruto’s attempt to persuade Kenyatta to convene a Jubilee parliamentary group meeting last week backfired.

The agenda of the meeting was allegedly to convince Jubilee MPs to back the government’s bid to raise the borrowing ceiling to Sh9 trillion.

Instead, Kenyatta sought the help of opposition parties Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Wiper to have the Treasury’s request approved in Parliament. The request got the green light from MPs on Wednesday.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, DP Ruto called out Daily Nation over the article, saying that the information was fake news.
Ruto indicated that he chaired the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) meetings and approved the matter before it was tabled in parliament.

“FAKE NEWS at it again! I chaired the IBEC meeting that approved the matter way before it came to parliament. Unfortunately for nation [Daily Nation] Uhuruto is inseparable. They [Daily Nation] should register as a political party then compete with Jubilee or operate a gutter journal for makotsi to run,” Ruto tweeted.

It’s ironical and absurd that Ruttoh is always the sole defender of his “ tight knit relationship” with Uhuru!! Have anyone heard Uhuru defending Rutto?? It goes both ways if the relationship is amicable/mutual! So Ruto is flossing the closeness! Everyone knows Uhuru is an addict and Ruto is a thief!! Nothing in common! Just saying.....

I think the witch-hunt against the DP is distracting Kenyans from other important issues that need to be addressed like the economy, job creation and how to take Kenya further in the 21st century. What’s wrong with us Kenyans?

It is a shame that Nation newspaper can waste space on things it cannot substantiate. I thought this paper was beyond this. What gains one if Ruto and Uhuru feud.
