A new survey by Infotrak Research has ranked Kenyan healthcare workers as the top performers in 2020.
Health workers received an approval rating of 76 percent for working on the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The end-year study ranked the media (72%), religious organizations (65%), and President Kenyatta (63%) as the second, third, and fourth-best performers respectively.
A majority of Kenyans mentioned police (45%), the National Assembly (39%), the Senate (35%), and county governments (31%) as the worst performers in the year.
65% percent of the respondents were of the opinion that the government mismanaged the economy last year, with 42% expressing optimism about a turnaround of the economy in 2021.
“Optimism that the government will do a good job with the economy is highest in North Eastern at 65 percent and Coast at 54 percent,” the report indicates.
47% of Kenyans termed the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic as average.
The survey was carried out between December 27th and 29th, where 800 respondents drawn from 24 counties were interviewed.
