US Company Opens Sh225 Million Health Center in Nairobi

US-based Columbia Pacific Management Inc. has opened its second healthcare outlet in Nairobi, Kenya.

The new facility located in Nairobi’s Lavington area was built at a cost of Sh225 million, and is the company’s second after the Sh200 million unit in Parklands, which was opened in 2016.

The two outpatient facilities are meant to address the rising demand for wellness clinics among the middle-class in the Kenyan capital.

The Lavington facility will offer several services including doctor consultation, family medicine, mother and child care, dental, optical, and other specialist services.

“We will focus on both preventive and executive health checks that are scientifically designed based on one’s age and gender,” said Columbia Africa Medical advisor, John Tole.

Columbia Africa’s clinical coordinator, Dr. Linda Thorpe said the new outlet will run a digitized health records management platform where clients’ medical history will be documented, hence form the basis of all future treatments.

Tole said the company has invested in a modern laboratory and radiology service to reduce instances where patients are flown abroad for specialized treatment.

30 members of staff including full-time family medicine consultants and specialist consultants have been hired for the new facility, which will be operating on a 24-hour basis.

Columbia Pacific Management, which offers investment advisory services, has other investments in China, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
