Judge Orders Governor Anne Waiguru to Serve Google with Court Papers in Defamation Suit

The High Court has directed Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru to serve US tech giant Google with court papers.

On Tuesday, Justice Weldon Korir gave Waiguru two months to furnish Google with court documents in a defamation case.

The judge made the order after Waiguru’s attorney filed an application seeking more time to serve Google in the US through the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

In the case filed in 2015, Waiguru wants the court to issue orders compelling a blog site dubbed Daily Post to delete alleged defamatory content against her.

She also wants Google Inc. and Google Kenya Ltd to be compelled to disclose information about the owners, authors, and publishers of Daily Post.

She is information such as the identity, address, telephone number, verification email address, access logs, any sign-up IP address, and account status of the person (s) who own control, publishes, or post in Daily Post.

She further urged the court to issue an order directing Google to remove or cause to be removed and permanently delete all defamatory statements concerning her published in the blog.

“I was shocked and embarrassed after reading the defamatory materials. As a public officer, the offending material has caused me trauma, reason wherefore I pray for judgment against Daily Post, Blogger Inc, and Google Inc jointly and severally for general damages, aggravated and exemplary damages and the costs of this suit,” Waiguru said in court papers.

She added: “Since the material is freely available on the World Wide Web to anyone with a computer, smartphone or tablet, it has been used to bully, harass and embarrass my school-going children.”

The case will be mentioned on June 8th, 2021, when the applicant will inform the court on the issue of furnishing the California-based internet service provider with court papers.

What a smart judge should have ordered is for this woman to return all the money she stole or have her accounts frozen. How the fuck is my idiot cousin in jail for stealing a chicken n this crook still roams Kenya with a smile on her face.

Waiguru should pursue her case to clear her name. I would urge her to secure a visa to travel to the bay area to file suit personally and get deposed by Google's lawyers. Anne, don't let your name get dragged through the mud. I've been told America is the land of opportunity, seize this one.
