Senator Orengo Alleges Plot by Senior Government Officials to Handpick Uhuru's Successor
Siaya Senator James Orengo has accused a section of senior civil servants of undermining the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
He says the individuals working in Harambee House are busy plotting President Kenyatta’s succession agenda instead of focusing on unity.
“Civil servants have no business to discuss and debate on political matters. I urge them to be compliant and obedient to the political institution.”
He added: “In this country, as President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are busy with the Building Bridges, there is a cabal inside government who are busy chatting the way how Kenya will be ruled after the 2022 election.”
While warning civil servants against meddling in the country’s politics, Orengo said the move could lead to anarchy.
“As a person who has witnessed how governments are run I want to say without fear of contradiction that whenever civil servants chart the future of a country, there can never be any peace. This is a warning shot,” Orengo added.
He alluded to an alleged scheme to sideline ODM leader Raila Odinga from the BBI process and 2022 succession politics, citing the recent parliamentary by-elections in Matungu and Kabuchai.
“They (civil servants) have already declared in their minds who is going to rule Kenya next year. They are simply reaping where they have not sowed. Without Raila Odinga, they would not be planning of those successions and therefore they must listen to the two BBI principals,” Orengo said without mentioning names.

Orengo has thrown the first stone. "this is a warning shot", he says. He is talking of the BBI process and 2022 successions politics. Didn't you guys tell us BBI has nothing to do with Raila and 2022 elections? You lied to us? What Orengo is saying is that the violence season in Kenya is around the corner. Time for blood sacrifice has arrived again and many people will die for Raila again. Orengo, civil servants will not decide the Uhuru successor, that is the work of Wanjiku. Remove the BBI nonsense and let wananchi decide the future of our country.
