Fire Razes Down Oasis Cottage Hotel in Malindi

Property worth millions of shillings was destroyed after a huge fire razed down Oasis Cottage Hotel in Malindi, Kilifi County on Saturday.

The inferno broke out at the posh tourist resort on Saturday afternoon and quickly spread to nearby buildings, damaging property of unknown value. 

Firefighters and locals were seen battling to extinguish the flames that were being fanned by high winds.

Confirming the incident, Malindi OCPD John Kemboi said efforts to put off the fire are still ongoing, adding that they were seeking reinforcement from the Malindi Airport Firefighting Department after the Kilifi County government fire engine ran out of water.

The cause of the fire was not immediately established.
