Kiambu MCA Eliud Ngugi Dies of COVID-19 Complications

Eliud Ngugi Ngige, the MCA for Muguga Ward in Kiambu County has succumbed to COVID-19 complications.
Ngugi, popularly known as ‘Thitia’, died on Monday evening, hours after he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kenyatta University Hospital.
Confirming his death, Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu said Ngugi fell ill after returning from an official to Mombasa on Sunday, where members of the County Assembly Budget Committee had retreated.
He was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning after testing positive for COVID-19 and died at around 8:00 pm.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing on of Hon. Eliud Ngugi Ngige, the MCA for Muguga Ward in Kiambu County. Hon. Ngige, popularly referred to as ‘Thitia’ by his constituents, will be remembered as a jovial and dedicated leader of the people,” Jubilee Party secretary-general Raphael Tuju said in a statement.
“On behalf of the Jubilee Party family, I take this opportunity to pass my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, Muguga Ward, and the Kiambu County Assembly,” he added.
