Former NTV News Anchor Winnie Mukami Dies of COVID-19

COVID-19 has claimed the life of yet another Kenyan media personality Winnie Mukami. The former NTV news anchor died on Thursday at a Nairobi hospital, where she was undergoing treatment after contracting COVID-19.
Mukami worked as a newscaster at NTV for nearly 10 years, having begun her career at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) where she served in different capacities.
She left the giant media house in 2010 to manage her public relations company, Winners Frontiers International Limited.
In 2018, Mukami was appointed as a member of the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) board, a position she held for three years.
Friends and former colleagues in the media industry have sent their messages of condolence to the family, describing Mukami as a gentle and hardworking soul.
Her death comes days after the passing of veteran radio journalist Robin Njogu, who succumbed to COVID-19 complications at the Aga Khan Hospital.
Until his demise, Njogu was the Managing Editor of the Radio News section at Royal Media Services.
