Britain's Prince Philip Dies at 99

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh has passed away aged 99.

Buckingham Palace in a statement said Prince Philip, who is the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, died peacefully on Friday morning at Windsor Castle.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” Buckingham Palace announced.

“Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

The deceased leaves behind four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Prince Philip served alongside the Queen for 65 years before retiring from public life in 2017 and has remained out of the public eye since.

He devoted the majority of his life to the Queen and the Royal Family and will be remembered for championing Britain as well as environmental issues, science, and technology.

Prince Philip was born on the Greek island of Corfu in 1921 as the only son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.

When Philip was a baby, his uncle who was the king of Greek was forced to abdicate, and the family fled to Paris, with Philip famously carried to safety in an orange box crib.

He married Queen Elizabeth II in 1947.

You have eaten well. Sucked the blood of innocent people that you made your colonial subjects as you sat next to the throne of your evil empire. Took people's land and livelihood by the use of force as you made them slaves in their own lands. By use of your almighty gun, you made strong men kneel before you. You took our resources, sweat and blood, but now you're on your way to hell. You will get what is coming to you!

Yes, he is a hero to your people and a terrorist to our people!!
Two worlds are now clear and visible!!
What builds your people; destroys our people.
This kind of news have nothing to do with our people!!

@Mwororo..let go! Are we always going to be enslaved in bitterness? The guka is gone so why bring on all that? Personally, I liked him, he had a warped and wicked sense of humour only few could appreciate. Plus, if you research his history, he had his fair share of misery - If that's what you are looking for. I say, R.I.P guka. Heshimu wazee na walio aga. Si utumwa kaka.

@Sukari, if you do not know where you came from ( your history) you do not know where you are and neither do you know where you are going.
Remember, Remember your forefathers!! Remember your history!! They are their forefathers and we are our forefathers!!

@AnonymousUI, I know too well my/our history and every day I live it believe it or not. However, that should not take away my humane side, rob me of empathy and fill me in with hate and bitterness! As Kenyans we have evolved, became eclectic in borrowing this and that from all cultures whilst maintaining our uniqueness. I simply don't want to blinded by hate. I don't forget brother, oh no...and in fact THEY never let us forget. Now, analyse that before you comment and you will see what I mean.

Seneca, and may he too rest in peace! Too much bitterness never enriched anyone. Alafu, it annoys me that we continue to bemoan how ill treated colonials were to us (and they were too) yet, decades later their imprints still stand strong amongst us...buildings, sheria zao and WE have yet to draw anything remotely close...instead we stand divided, dishing out dirt and ukabila, corrupt in our ways and our infrastructure breaking at the seams. Wacheni!
