Machakos Governor Mutua Initiates Removal of County Attorney James Kathili over Gross Misconduct
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has suspended County Attorney James Kathili effective immediately.
His suspension will pave the way for his removal from office over alleged gross misconduct, violation of the constitution, and incompetence, among others. Governor Mutua in a statement on Monday said the move is aimed at achieving a smooth and fair removal process.
“In order to pave way for a fair removal process and minimize the possibility of interference with proceedings, I have with immediate effect suspended Hon. James Musango Kathili from Office as County Attorney for the County Government of Machakos,” said Mutua.
“This has been necessitated by a serious violation of the constitution and other laws, gross misconduct, incompetence, dereliction of duties as well as unprofessional and unethical conduct on his part.”
Mutua says he will transmit the specific reasons for his decision to the County Assembly for approval to enable Kathili’s removal from office.
Kathili, who previously served as the county’s legal officer, was appointed as the county attorney in July last year.

Wow hardly one year on the job and the fellow is deemed incompetent! Well how was he hired in the first place?I dont know anything about this lawyer Kathili,but I would hope that he gets his day in court-due process.

There is alot of misconduct,and incompetency in all levels of government,and it all starts with employing the least qualified candidates.Most with fake credentials.And of course the culprit is the evil corruption.And who bear the brunt of the fallout,THE PUBLIC, the tax payers.Unfortunately, its the same tax payers who pay bribes.Therefore its the public that has solutions to this mess. Elect worthy candidates. Remember this come 2022.
