MP David Gikaria Grilled over Links to Dreaded 'Confirm' Criminal Gang

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria was on Tuesday questioned by detectives over alleged links with a notorious criminal gang.

The MP was summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices in Nakuru to shed light on his alleged association with the dreaded ‘Confirm’ criminal gang that is suspected to be behind the recent spate of daytime killings in the city.

Intelligence reports have linked the gang and other splinter groups to robberies, rape, and a series of chilling murders involving only women in Mawanga estate within Nakuru.

Gikaria, who is seeking a third term on a UDA party ticket, is accused of bailing out members of the criminal gang whenever they are arrested.

Over the weekend, 27 youths suspected to be part of the gang were arrested in the ongoing crackdown targeting the criminals.

“There is this group called Confirm in Nakuru…we are ready for them, we shall camp in Nakuru. I will be there together with the Inspector General…wanajiita Confirm…tuko tayari kuwa confirm sasa, you can't be terrorizing Kenyans, women, in Nakuru...we are ready for them kabisa,” Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i declared on Saturday.
