Kenyans living in Brazil who lost their citizenship or need birth certificates for children born abroad can now resolve their legal status during a four-day consular outreach.

The exercise, which also covers passport applications and renewals, is designed to help citizens register dual nationality and access legal documentation without making repeated trips to the embassy.

The Kenyan Embassy in Brasília and the State Department for Diaspora Affairs announced the schedule in a joint notice on Thursday. Consular officers will visit São Paulo on 1 November and 2 November, before moving to Brasília on 3 November and 4 November.

Under Kenyan law, citizens who acquired foreign nationality before the 2010 Constitution are required to undergo a formal process to regain their citizenship. The upcoming drive provides a direct route for affected Kenyans in South America to lodge these declarations and regularise their dual citizenship status.

Officers will also process birth registration applications for children born to Kenyan parents in Brazil, ensuring they obtain official citizenship documents.

The outreach aims to bring vital public services closer to the diaspora and strengthen their ties with home. Embassy officials encouraged members of the Kenyan community in Brazil to share details of the exercise with others who might require documentation.

Citizens seeking more information can contact the embassy on +55 61 99832-2160 or scan the QR code on the official notice.
