Police Raid Ruto’s Former Private Office at Transnational House After a Tip-off on Transfer of Servers

Police on Sunday raided Deputy President William Ruto’s alleged former private office on the 9th floor of Transnational House in Nairobi CBD over suspicious activities.

Officers said they intercepted the movement of two servers to an undisclosed location, according to Citizen TV.

Police reports indicate that a security officer attached to the deputy president’s office was found at the scene and upon interrogation, he said he was asked to supervise the transfer of sensitive materials as the office was undergoing renovations.

A team comprising officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) cybercrime and scenes of crime units was dispatched to conduct forensic investigations on the two servers.

“We got a tip-off and we came to investigate because we found the information about moving servers quite sensitive,” Nairobi Deputy Regional Police Commander James Mugera told the press.

The servers reportedly belong to Lampstar Technologies and Intellect Group, which provide core banking systems to Saccos and mobile banking

“It is not a crime to move servers just that we have to do our investigations first,” Mugera added.

The area was cordoned off as a crime scene as investigations continue.

Ruto had a private office at Transnational House before he assumed office in 2013.

This is becoming silly. When did police have to confiscate one’s belongings when one is moving? Many offices and personal entities move every day. Do we have to involve police in every move just because someone saw some computers or or underwears?
I hear they also confiscated a micro wave. What do these idiots think, that the microwave is being used to cook election results.
They need to be sued in a big way.
The police claim someone called them. For what purpose? If they came and saw that the gadgets in question are actually normal electronics found in most offices. But unless they were seeing something illegal, they are not supposed to touch or take away anything.
The chicken at the end of the day will come home to roost.

Stop your nonsense whore! Ruto is in the midst of soing all manner of criminal things to interfere with a free and fair 2022 elections. Ruto has money laundered 25 billion shillings with his crooked Nigeria relatives. The DCI and the police must stay vigilant and truck every movement Ruto makes until the elections are over. Stop your foolishness @assista.

This Kuzimia supporters thrive in insults and using derogatory language. No wonder their leader can't articulate his agenda. Anyway @Warid and @Zac to each his own. If it makes you feel like men insulting women due to inferior ego go ahead.

Police State. It's now illegal to move a server in Kenya. Going back to Moi's reign of terror.

Trust me Ruto knows what they did last time he is trying to copy paste same, unlucky he fell out with his boss so chances of Monkey business will not favor him, Moving servers at this time is VERY sensitive especially when the owner is seeking top post and from previous...Servers during election...we are monitoring the cloud every single mass data..new installation lazima tujue ni nini period..Hold on your movement just three weeks and kick start your projects

@asista is an illiterate kalenjin covering for wsr. They have no Kenya’s interests at heart. It is the birds of a feather flocking together kind of thieves. Ruto will not see the state house @asista. I have told you that since he started running his mouth over 5 years ago. I assume yoy are now 15 yrs old since you used to be 10 years old then. You can understand the nation and its interest better now. Wacha ujinga na utoto!

"You live by the sword you die by the sword". All that rigging they have done in the past Ruto alikuwa ndani kabisa, fortunately for the Country his partner in crime is NOT playing the game this time around. The chickens are comming home to roost.

What is the probable cause, the evidence of wrong-doing? The police themselves admit “there’s nothing wrong with moving servers itself”. What were they trying to disrupt? Did they have warrants for confiscation or is this drama for drama, a smokescreen for a fledgling, unsure, anxious campaign?
