Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir Concedes to His Main Rival, Comedian Jalang’o

Lang'ata MP Nixon Korir has conceded defeat and congratulated his main rival comedian Felix Odiwor, alias Jalang’o.

Korir, who was defending his seat on a UDA party ticket, says his own tally shows Jalang’o is poised to clinch the parliamentary seat and thanked the people of Lang’ata for according him the opportunity to serve then for the last five years.

“I sincerely thank you for according me an opportunity to be your Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. It has been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation-building and service to the people,” Korir wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

"From the results that we've tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalang’o has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward. Siasa si chuki. God bless Langata.”

Korir was facing off with Jalang’o (ODM) Caroline Jepkemboi (Usawa kwa Wote), Thomas Awili (Independent), Osman Abdulahi (Kanu), Cliff Aboki (Ford Asili) and Susan Odongo (Independent).

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is yet to announce the constituency's final results.
