SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri Wins Kasarani MP Seat on Independent Ticket

SportPesa CEO Capt. Ronald Karauri has won the Kasarani parliamentary seat on an independent ticket.

Karauri was declared the winner after gaining 32,406 votes closely, followed by UDA’s John Njoroge Kamau (30,444 votes). Incumbent Mercy Gakuya of Jubilee Party garnered 24,790 votes.

Addressing the press shortly after being announced the winner, Karauri thanked Kasarani constituents for believing in him and promised to deliver during his tenure.

“To the people of Kasarani Thank you so much, for the trust you have bestowed upon me, and I tell you I will not disappoint you,” Karauri noted.

He added: “For all the trust you have Bestowed upon me, to all those who chose me because I am an MP for all the people of Kasarani, for example all the MCAs we have in Kasarani are from UDA and I promise we will work together.”

Karauri decided to vie for the seat as an independent candidate after Jubilee Party denied him a ticket in favor of Gakuya.
