Ann Waiguru Re-elected as Kirinyaga Governor in Hotly-Contested Race
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has been re-elected.
Waiguru successfully defended her seat following a highly-contested race that saw her beat her main competitor outgoing Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici by 7,411 votes.
Waiguru, who vied under a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, was declared the winner on Friday after securing 113,088 votes ahead of Ngirici (independent candidate) who scored 105,677 votes.
Speaking after she was awarded a clearance certificate by IEBC returning officer, Waiguru thanked her supporters and her husband Kamotho Waiganjo for their immense support.
“I want to thank the people of Kirinyaga because of the confidence that you have shown in me. Despite everything we went through they kept their faith in us and we managed to get this seat,” said Waiguru.
“From the very bottom of my heart…the best husband someone can have…Kamotho. Most of you say I am always looking very calm, it is because he carries the load, a lot of times behind the scenes. If it wasn’t for him, I would not have made it beyond these past 5 days. Thank you for being there, for the support to the family.”

Voters always elect those who represent their moral values. This clearly depicts that the voters of Kirinyaga are as morally corrupt as Waiguru herself. Now she has 5 more years to steal but thats alright because that is what Kirinyaga voters want.

Waiguru was rigged in by Ruto. She did bot win the election. Most of those elected under Udaku in the mountain have been rigged in by Ruto.
They should not complain it appears voters have a very low moral compass or a short memory.She belongs in Kamiti with Babu Owino at least the judiciary prevented Sonko from running nowandee he was mad because from the way things look he could have easily sailed through to pilfer Mombasa like he did in Nairobi
